You need to get out more...
The San Francisco North Bay area has an abundance of beautiful and wild public lands. From beaches to mountains, we are lucky to have an endless opportunity for hiking and appreciation of Nature’s bounty. On the second Saturday of every month we’ll set off on a different trail, rain or shine. Along the way we’ll do a little meditation, mindfulness, learn some practices, and get in tune with the universe. Hikes will be moderate in pace, length and difficulty, with an interesting destination. You’re invited to join us.
Dharma Hike 6
In April, Dharma Hike 6 returns to its previous schedule on the second Saturday
Saturday, April 10, 2010
Alamere Falls
Pt. Reyes National Seashore
This spectacular waterfall drops off a 50-foot cliff directly onto the beach just a few feet from the ocean. After our unusually wet spring, it should be very full.
Meet at the Palomarin Trailhead
at 11 a.m.
From the trailhead parking lot, we enter the Pt. Reyes National Seashore and begin a four mile hike over mostly level terrain, along the Coast Trail, passing by several swimmable lakes, and finally reach Alamere Falls.
Wear or bring long pants. The short spur trail that takes you from the Coast Trail to the falls may have some poison oak.
Bring a lunch and we'll have an adventure.
Getting There
From anywhere north of Marin, take your favorite route to Olema, which is where Sir Francis Drake Blvd. meets Highway 1. Continue south on 1 to the turnoff for Bolinas. Look closely for this, because locals are known to remove the sign from time to time.
For denizens of southern Marin, take Highway 1 out of Mill Valley, pass through Stinson Beach and look for the left turn to Bolinas.
Turn right on Mesa Road and take it to where it ends at the Palomarin parking lot.

Dharma Hike 1
Our inaugural Dharma Hike:
Saturday, October 10
Pt. Reyes National Seashore
Bear Valley Trail to Arch Rock.
An easy 10 miles round-trip. Maybe we’ll see one of the legendary white Farrow Deer.

It was a pleasant day, warm, with the sun trying to break through a thin fog.
